In February 2009, after four successful years as a subsidiary of Kalitta
Charters,
the Fly-A-Charter division was sold in it's entirety to Jocelyn
“Josie” Kalitta.
Fly-A-Charter became a stand-alone air charter bid /
auction site in September 2009. Fly-A-Charter met the criteria and
was certified as a Woman's Business Enterprise by the Woman's Business
Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
Fly-A-Charter is an internet based air charter bid / auction website
developed for the purpose of using a bidding system of qualified
carriers to match air charter clients with the right size aircraft at the
least possible cost. Fly-A-Charter recognized an opportunity to
provide clients access to aircraft at extremely competitive rates with
over one hundred air carriers in the interline system.

Fly-A-Charter began operations in February 2005 as a subsidiary of Kalitta Charters, LLC. The Kalitta family has a lifetime of experience in the
airline industry, dating back to 1967 when Mr. Conrad “Connie” Kalitta incorporated “Kalitta Flying Service”. By 1996, “Kalitta Flying Service” was
the largest privately owned airline in the world, operating over one hundred aircraft from turbine Beech to Boeing 747s. The air carrier
community is well acquainted with the Kalitta family and eagerly pursued membership in the Fly-A-Charter interline database.
Fly-A-Charter neither owns nor operates aircraft for commercial use. All flights are conducted by FAA certified operators. For safety purposes,
quality records are maintained on all interline air carriers, including trucking and ground handling vendors to support door-to-door services. If
carriers do not meet FAA standards, they will not become part of the carrier base. As a result, Fly-A-Charter has the safest, most qualified fleet
of interline air carriers in the business.
Fly-A-Charter continually and successfully manages numerous domestic and international air charters. The majority of our operations
personnel have at least 10 years experience. Senior managers average twenty to thirty years’ experience. Fly-A-Charter is proud to have the
lowest employee turnover in the air charter management industry.
